May 13 and 20, 2006 - Finishing the Turbo Oil
Lines, and Installing the Fuel Rails and Gauges
I was out of town the weekends of May 13 and May 20 so Dad kept
working while I was away. The first thing he did was redo the
oil pressure sender and the supply lines. He wasn't happy with
the way they were stacked so he switched them. He also put the
new passenger side drain line on. Here's a picture of the
supply lines on top and the sender on the bottom.
On May 20, he installed the upper intake cover, fuel rails, fuel
pressure regulator, and gauges. Here's a picture of the fuel
rails just before he put them on.
Before he put the rails on he removed the stock fuel pressure
regulator and installed the Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator.
Here's a picture of the fuel rails installed and the fuel pressure
sender connected to the rails. Normally a 90 degree elbow
would be used so the sender is not sticking straight up in the air,
but he couldn't get the elbow to hold fuel without leaking so he
decided not to use it.
Here's a picture of the fuel pressure regulator installed with the
vacuum line connected.
He also mounted the gauges in the car and started to route the wires
and tubes. I decided to use a fuel pressure gauge,
boost/vacuum gauge, exhaust gas temperature gauge, and oil pressure
gauge. He didn't get any pictures of the gauges in place so
I'll have to add those later.
